August 2010 – Okay, I’ll admit it. I love Chinese restaurants — admiring the colorful presentations, delighting in the cheerfulness of the servers and savoring the hot and spicy delicacies as they spring from the chopsticks onto my palate.
 
I am also a sucker for fortune cookies. As often as I receive one that strikes me with less-than-meaningful babble, a gem appears that seemingly aligns with the dialogue I was engaged in during the meal or resonates with a current business decision or challenge. Those fortunes are neatly tucked away for safekeeping and later reflection.
 
In this article I am going to share four such fortune cookie messages that struck a chord and apply to business planning and goal-setting.
