WAUKESHA, WI – January 28, 2011 – Along with 22 members of the Waukesha County Business Alliance, Hamacher Resource Group, Inc.’s president Dawn Vogelsang met with Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch during the Walker administration’s first Small Business Roundtable on January 27. Hamacher Resource Group is a 30-year-old Wisconsin company that provides marketing, research, and consulting solutions for the retail consumer healthcare industry.
Among many issues discussed at the roundtable was the need expressed by local businesses for a better educated workforce. Many attendees reported having difficulty finding employees who are appropriately qualified with the technical skills they will need to do the job. "At the same time," Vogelsang says, "educators need to understand the role they play in imparting certain universal qualities to tomorrow's workforce, such as communication skills, critical thinking ability, and punctuality." Speaking of the Walker administration's prompt efforts to deliver on campaign promises to the business community, Vogelsang said, "As a business owner in Waukesha County, I am excited about the opportunities for change and look forward to seeing the action that needs to follow from these listening sessions."
The roundtable, held at the Brookfield Suites Hotel & Convention Center, was the first in a series of similar events to be held at the request of Governor Walker throughout the state of Wisconsin this year.
